The sunny warm weather in the afternoon results in a risk of wet avalanches.
In the High, Low and Western Tatras there is a moderate avalanche danger (2nd degree). We expect light snowfall, mainly in the afternoon (up to 10 cm of new snow). Due to the small amount of new snow, the avalanche situation will not change significantly. Small spontaneous avalanches may occur.
Only isolated gliding avalanches are to be expected.
Snowpack
The snow cover is very varied. The warm sunny weather yesterday caused the top layers of snow to become soaked. These are hardening as the weather cools. Up to 10 cm of new snow will be added. Continuous snow cover occurs from about 1200 m above sea level.

Avalanche Problem
Gliding snow
1300m
Only isolated gliding avalanches are to be expected.
In Mala and Veľká Fatra a moderate avalanche danger (2nd degree) is declared above 1300 m a.s.l. Due to warm and rainy weather the snow cover will get wet, which will reduce its cohesion. At altitudes below 1200 m, there is only incoherent snow cover, so avalanches are not expected there.
Only isolated gliding avalanches are to be expected.
Snowpack
The snow gets soaked and softened by rain. A continuous snow cover occurs from about 1200 m above sea level.
