There is little avalanche danger above the forest and slash line. Wind has created small snow pillows and slabs. Avalanche danger is sporadic and concentrated to locations where larger amounts of snow are blown. Critical locations are where larger amounts of snow are blown on grassy or smooth rock. Snow slabs and cushions become heavier as the weather warms up and may sporadically spontaneously break loose.
Snowpack
After the warming, the snow cover is heavy and soggy. Most of the wind-blown snow is deposited at higher altitudes, in alpine troughs and on grassy slopes below ridge sides.
Tendency
As the weather warms up, the snow will disappear and so will the avalanche danger
