The avalanche problem is wind-blown snow from the last snowfall, especially on the northern side of the Tatras. Avalanche release is possible on steep slopes, especially with high additional loads. Wet snow is also becoming problematic during the day and will occur at all altitudes, but especially on the southern slopes.",

Dry snow can be found only at high altitudes on the shady and northern slopes of the Tatras. In the middle and, during the day, also at the highest altitudes, the frozen snow will change to wet snow. Continuous snow cover can be found at altitudes above 1400 - 1600 m above sea level, depending on the orientation."
